This unit provides the skills and knowledge needed to perform a rescue from live low voltage (LV) electrical apparatus in the electricity supply industry (ESI) environment, excluding overhead lines and underground cables.

​

The course covers workplace requirements for inspecting and using live LV panel rescue equipment, ensuring ESI workers meet work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS) standards, mobility, and mutual aid protocols. Participants will gain practical skills to identify and mitigate hazards, understand safe approach distances for workers, tools, and equipment, and comply with safety regulations.

The training also equips individuals to perform the LV panel rescue procedure and administer CPR in various situations, following Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. Given the high-risk nature of the industry, this program is a mandatory requirement for employees in specific sectors to maintain their professional skills.
